Description

Jim has been into dance music for as long as he can remember. Having saved his pennies for his first set of decks when he was 16, he quickly gained a reputation for his natural ability behind the turntables. Starting at local youth clubs and house parties Jim was soon booked to play at local clubs in his home town of Maidstone. Being a regular at Club Class Jim was able to soak up some of the finest DJ’s around week in week out. He also got the chance to play the backroom a few times as he began to cut his teeth as a DJ. Moving to Bristol gave Jim a fresh challenge and a new scene to get into. As his sound developed his sets had a different edge with house, techno and electro all featuring highly from labels such as Border Community, Soma, Pokerflat, Bpitch, Get Physical, Minus and Fine and artists like Holden, Petter, Buik Project, Nathan Fake, John Tejada and Tiefschwarz amongst many others. Realising that Bristol had a diverse underground scene Jim set about networking and getting his sound out to the masses. He quickly became a regular at Empathy, Bristol’s best tech/prog night, with resident Stuart Wilkinson giving him the opportunity to flex his muscle behind the decks. Other gigs at Bristol’s best clubs followed and Jim became a favorite on the Bristol scene. Jim didn't just stick to Bristol, with gigs in places such as Spain, Holland, Canada and Cafe Mambo in Ibiza to name a few. Along side his DJing, Jim had been working hard on his other love – making music. Editing and remixing tracks in his sets naturally led onto Jim producing his own original productions, bringing us up to speed for today, with Jim’s first two official tracks (check the tracks page) "future" and "restore". With the initial response being good, a new residency at Empathy and new night Plastik its only a matter of time until Jim’s music and DJing will be making the dance world sit up and listen….
