Description

112-116 Princess St serve up another cracking ensemble of talent for the first weekend of April.

Friday sees Brazilian dnb titan, dance music legend and one of the most affable men on the planet DJ Marky at the helm. Known for his extended sets that rollick past the three to five hour mark (in a genre that will regularly shove artist on for little longer than 45 minutes) Marky is the most enigmatic presence in his scene. The biggest DJ from his continent, his energy known no bounds as he effortlessly ignites dance floors with the most notoriously enthusiastic presence and wide mouthed grin in modern rave. Enlisting a few of his friends along for the ride, D-Bridge, Die, Dynamite MC and Blood & Fire swagger on board for an evening of epic energy.

And if Marky stands for quality within his genre, Francois K stands for it full stop.

Operating for longer than the life span of acid house (first hitting his stride in Disco’s heyday at the start of the seventies), the Franco-New Yorker has seen every trend and every form of music come up throughout the history of dance, and still remains top of the tree. His genre bending eclecticism means he’s equally at home with spaced out dub as he is with speaker shredding electro, with lashings upon lashing of groove heavy house and percussive techno spliced in between. A true master at work and a rare chance to catch him in such an intimate space.

Cosmic disco stalwart Prins Thomas, with his warped sonic assaults also stars, as do 112-116 mainstays Krysko and Danny Mac.
