Nur am Anfang seiner House-Karriere kannte Pat Farrell das Gefühl von mangelndem Support, leeren Clubs und wenigen Bookings. Seit seinem Einstieg in dieses Business gewann der Pat Farrell-Express rasant an Geschwindigkeit und macht mittlerweile regelmässig als unumstrittener und äusserst beliebter Resident Zwischenstopp im Luzerner In-Club The Loft oder dem Duke´s Club wo er zugleich als Event Manager tätig ist. Dazu darf er sein Können regelmässig in Locations wie dem Casineum, dem Platins, dem Bolero oder dem Indochine unter Beweis stellen. Produktionen Als etablierter und ehrgeiziger Plattenleger seiner Zunft, weiss er aber um das Risiko der Musikbranche. Trends kommen und gehen, so auch ein gefragter DJ. Um dem vorzubeugen, und in der Absicht seine Popularität zu steigern, kennt man in der Musikbranche nur eine Variante: Die Produktionen der eigenen Musiktracks. Es verwundert deshalb nicht, dass der in Affoltern am Albis lebende Pat Farrell sich dazu entschlossen hat, eigene Tracks zu erarbeiten. Mittlerweile kann er stolz auf seine ersten Versuche als Produzent verweisen. Wobei das Wort „Versuche“ eigentlich das Falsche ist. Seine beiden ersten Silberlinge „Confused“ und „Pay no mind“ sind dem Puls der Zeit angepasst, denn dem Spagat zwischen dem bewährten Elektro / House und dem neu aufkommendem Minimal wird darin Rechnung getragen. In „Confused“ dominieren eher die Klänge der Elektrogitarre, wobei im „minimalistischeren“ „Pay no mind“ die dumpfen Töne regieren.

Seit Bestehen der Homepage www.patfarrell.ch bietet der sympathische DJ für seine Members (mittlerweile 1600 an der Zahl) viel interaktives Design. Auf den schmucken Chat wäre manch andere Webpage stolz. Die Möglichkeit ein eigenes Profil zu erstellen, Fotos hochzuladen und mit anderen Members zu kommunizieren sind ebenfalls sehr gefragt. Selbstverständlich bietet die Homepage die gängigen Features, wie das Anschauen von wöchentlichen Fotogalerien, rege genutzte Gäste- und Friendslisten, das Schreiben von Private Messages, den Newsletter oder den Download von Livesets. Um eine Aussage bezüglich der Beliebtheit seiner Homepage machen zu können, wirft man am Besten einen Blick auf die Statistiken: Pro Monat liegt der Durchschnitt der Klicks von unterschiedlichen IP-Adressen, also von verschiedenen Personen, bei über 4000.

Unabhängig vom Erfolg seiner Produktionen, wird der gebürtige Zuger sich auch in Zukunft weiterhin seinen Gigs widmen. So wird er seinen ausgeflippten Partygängern weiter abwechslungsreiche Events mit guter elektronischer Musik bieten können, und den Clubbesitzern dazu ein volles Haus. Wenn er sich zudem mit der Musik und der Art und Weise der Performance zukünftiger Nachwuchstalenten Innerschweiz identifizieren kann, unterstützt er diese gerne, um der Region stets neue, talentierte Gesichter präsentieren zu können. Nicht zuletzt deshalb lautet sein Motto: „Hauptsache es kommt von Herzen …“ Biography english Only at the beginning of his career in house-music, there has been a lack of support with empty clubs and few bookings. Since his entry in that business, the story of Pat Farrell has been going on like no other example in the region of central Switzerland. He’s been playing all around, as a resident in Lucerne top-club The Loft or Duke’s Club, Sihlbrugg. Furthermore, he’s privileged to perform his music in clubs such as the Casineum (LU), the Platins (ZH), the Bolero (ZH) or high-society Indochine Club & Bar (ZH).
Productions
As an established performer, he knows about the risk of the music industry, which has been increasing year after year. Trends come and go – as well as a famous DJ. In order to prevent from loosing track, there’s only one reason how to increase the popularity: The production of good, successful music tracks which carry an own special handwriting. It’s therefore not astonishing that the ambitious man - raised originally in Zug, but has been living in the canton of Zurich for quite a while - is determined to work on his own productions, which hopefully turn out to be masterpieces. Independent from the success of his tracks, he plans on consecrating himself to his beloved gigs. In this manner, all of his supporters, fans or other interested lovers of electronic music can enjoy good music in energetic atmosphere. On the other hand club owners will be pleased with sold out events. Another feature needs to mentioned, describing the future outlook of his work. If the music and performances of upcoming talents meets his expectations, there will always be room to give the young talents chances in elite-DJ’ing. Along this way, he makes sure that the region will never be short of newcomers. Last but not least his motto is suitably: “Most important, it comes from the heart…”
