Playing basketball since his early years, Rocca grows up on the city’s playgrounds where his favorite sport is accompanied by Black Music and Hip Hop rhythms. Still very young at this time, Rocca doesn’t quite belong to the night scene yet but for him as well, the Thursday « Disco&Funk » nights at the « No Joke Club » where DJs like DJ Ker and Ueli H. perform, soon become an inevitable event in the area. Like the « Take5 Club », the « No Joke Club » gets its brilliant reputation from its House Music programming. Guest DJs like Victor Simonelli (Resident), Tremendo (Resident), Spen, Shakedown, Matthias Heilbronn, Bob Sinclair, Joe T. Vannelli, Sandy Rivera, Ricky Morrison & many others played there. It is, in fact, at the « No Joke » where the « lovestory » between Rocca and House Music sees light. Not only is the « No Joke » a discotheque, but it is, first of all, a partying spirit and a big family. Even though the club doesn’t materially exist anymore, its spirit does! It is still well and alive in the most city clubber’s mind... and will probably be alive for ever!
It is in this same discotheque where Rocca gets the chance to stand behind the decks for the first time and he will never thank Ueli « Le Gros » H. enough for having given him this opportunity!
First attached to more commercial sounds, he soon joins the style of his spiritual brothers. These are people such as Angel (SIKK, Eye Industries, King Street US) and Satino. Thanks to this golden frame and to the influence of national and international DJs such as Paul-Farris, Spen & Karizma, Mr.Mike, MAW, Aston Martinez, Tony Humphries, Jamie Lewis, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong & many others, his sense of music has evolved towards more specific and more qualitative sounds. These same sounds are the ones which give him the possibility to progress artisitcally and to present his music on a regional and national level at the sides of people such as SIKK, Major Boys, Copyright, Jamie Lewis, Victor Simonelli, Nick Bridges, Ralf Gum, Fafa Monteco, Simon Dunmore, Ian Carey, ... & recently "Little" Louie Vega !
