This is the first time that D-Formation is ranked in DJ Mag’s top 100 DJ Poll (ranked 39th) consolidating him as one of today’s most highly demanded artists, and something that he assures us makes him feel “very proud and extremely excited!”
D-Formation is the latest (it is only 3 years old) of Dimas Carbajo’s more than 20 different pseudonyms that includes Flamenco Trip and Que Idea just to name a few. Many of the tracks released under these other pseudonyms have passed on to become internationally renowned hits. When asked about the future of D-Formation, he says, “I will stick to that name as long as I still feel good about the music I make.”
Dimas Carbajo’s career spans for more than 20 years. He is currently the owner of 7 labels (INTENSO, TUSOM, BEATFREAK, DISTINTO, MENTA, TEKKTTON and TCR) which all produce different kinds of music, including trance, techno and house. Out of all his labels, BEATFREAK stands out thanks to its large repertoire of songs and the excellent feedback it has received from fellow producers and DJ’s.

A considerable part of his labels’ resources are also devoted to discovering and supporting emerging music production and DJ talent. As he says, “I feel we have to support the young people that are working hard to produce tracks and dj. I love to hear new tracks from new young producers everyday.”
His most recent project will be up and running: an online download shop (www.freakybeat.com) which will have thousands of different tracks and labels available for all music lovers and DJ’s to download all around the world.
D-Formation loves playing for crowds and making people passionate about music, something which he says, “fulfils [him].” He has played in clubs all over the world, out of which he mostly fondly remembers Ageha, Womb (Tokyo), Ministry of Sound (London), Zouk (Singapore), Roots (Mexico), Privilege (Ibiza), Red Light (Montreal), Queen (Paris), Mania (Bulgaria), Kadoc (Portugal), Sullivan Room (NY), Calypso (Tunisia), Latitude (LA), Mangoo (Dominican Republic), Sirena (Brazil)… He claims that travelling every weekend makes him feel like a ‘tourist’ and he loves it!
The success of tracks such as 'Starstuff', 'Signs & Portents' and 'The Third Dimension' (recently remixed by Victor Calderone) has been underlined by critical acclaim as well as commercial success, and this creative renaissance has been confirmed by a welter of remixing commissions and requests for collaboration. D-Formation has remixed and added his distinctive sound to tracks by Victor Calderone, Smokin' Jo, Chus & Ceballos and Jocelyn Brown amongst others. One curious fact is that D-Formation's remix of 'La Noche' by Coca & Villa was NUMBER 1 top selling of 2004 at legal internet download site Beatport.
His plans for 2007? He is currently working on a compilation that will be released sometime this year, as well as tons of new tracks, also to be released later on in the year. “Lots of surprises,” he says while grinning cheek to cheek.
“Becoming a father and all the positive things happening professionally at the moment is making me experience one of the best moments of my life,” he admits.
D-Formation is house's fastest rising international DJ: not only is his house big enough for everyone but he is reshaping, remodeling and reinventing house: taking house home. A session from D-Formation is not a session but a seamless production, deeper, electro and darker progressive house than you can imagine, interspersed with lighter, faster, brighter sounds than you thought imaginable: hearing is believing.
